Nobody crosses that valley without a reason. The two we hear most are that someone works at Macquarie Park and finds us easier to reach from the office than from home, or that they’ve started a course of treatment here and would rather one practice finish it than hand it over halfway.

Implant work isn’t measured in appointments, it’s measured in months. There’s the assessment and planning, then the placement, then a healing period while the post integrates with the bone, then fitting the replacement tooth. Rehabilitation across several teeth adds stages again.
Crowns and bridges take less time but still need two visits at minimum, since the restoration is made off site between them. A small filling picked up at an examination can often be dealt with at that same attendance, which saves a return trip across the valley.
We’ll set out the number of appointments and the likely timeframe before anything starts. Treatment suitability and results vary between individuals, so what applies to your case is something the assessment determines rather than something we’d quote in advance.

Sudden pain, a fractured or knocked-out tooth, a restoration that has come loose, or swelling around the jaw all warrant a call rather than a wait. Ring us on (02) 9488 7555 as early in the day as you can, since that’s when the schedule has the most flexibility and reception can tell you straight away what’s realistically available.
If there’s severe facial swelling, bleeding that won’t stop, or an injury to the jaw or face, don’t make the drive across. Get seen locally or go to a hospital emergency department, and call 000 if it’s serious. We can take on the follow-up treatment afterwards once the immediate problem is dealt with.
Patients here range from a first childhood examination through to older adults who need a slower pace or a longer slot. Children’s visits cover examinations and preventive treatment, with the adult teeth monitored as they erupt, which is usually where crowding is first picked up.
If there’s anything that would make the appointment easier, let reception know when you book rather than on the day, since arrangements made in advance work better than ones improvised at the desk. Patients with special needs are accommodated.
Family members travelling across together can generally be booked one after another, which turns a single drive into a single block of appointments. What’s appropriate for each person depends on their own circumstances, and that’s something worked out at the appointment rather than assumed beforehand.
Bridge Street runs off the Pacific Highway close to the Gordon boundary, and the Pymble Corporate Centre sits along it. By car from Epping, the usual approach is Epping Road east to the Lane Cove Road interchange at Macquarie Park, then north on Lane Cove Road, which crosses De Burghs Bridge over the Lane Cove River and becomes Ryde Road, running up through West Pymble to the Pacific Highway. Bridge Street is just off the highway from there.
The Pacific Highway intersection at that end carries heavy traffic through the day, so allow extra at weekday peaks and aim for a mid-morning or early afternoon slot where your schedule permits it.
On public transport, the Metro from Epping to Chatswood connects to the T1 North Shore Line running north to Pymble. Bus route 575 also runs between Macquarie University and Pymble along the Pacific Highway. Pymble station sits on Grandview Street at the lower end of the suburb, so allow for a walk at this end either way.
Head for Suite 304, ground floor of Building 3. There’s parking on site, and first appointments run longer than routine ones, so allow more time than the drive alone suggests.
Usually, yes. Mention it when you book and tell us what stage you’re at, and we can request your file and any recent imaging from the other practice so the diagnostics don’t need repeating. Where a crown or a longer plan is partway through, knowing what’s already been done saves both time and cost. What transfers depends on what the other practice holds on file.
Most major funds are accepted and claiming is processed at the front desk, so the rebate comes off the bill on the day rather than arriving weeks later. Bring your fund card. What you’re left paying depends on your own level of cover and how much of your annual limit remains, which is worth checking with your fund before committing to larger treatment.
Yes, and it’s a sensible thing to want for treatment at that scale. Bring the plan and any X-rays, or tell reception and we can usually request them so imaging isn’t repeated. You’ll get our assessment and the reasoning behind it, including where we agree with the original. Whether implants are the right option at all comes down to what the assessment shows.
