Preventive care and restorative work across shorter appointments
Lindfield is close enough that the trip barely registers as one. What brings patients here usually isn’t distance at all, it’s that they started with us at some point and never found a reason to change. A fair number arrived when a filling turned into a crown and they wanted the same practice handling both stages rather than splitting it.
Dentists at Pymble has been caring for families on this stretch of the North Shore for more than a century, largely through word of mouth. We work conservatively, which means looking at whether a tooth can be kept before discussing what would replace it. At this distance that opens something up: treatment doesn’t have to be compressed into as few appointments as possible.
What follows is the practical detail of each appointment. Our wider range of treatments is set out on the dental services page.
Every mouth is different, so what we’d recommend for you is settled at a consultation rather than assumed at the point of booking.
Lindfield’s proximity changes what we can offer in terms of pacing, and for some patients that matters more than anything else on this page.
Where a treatment plan would normally mean one long appointment, we can often split it across two or three shorter ones instead. That suits people who can’t sit comfortably for extended periods, patients managing other health conditions, and anyone who finds dental appointments difficult enough that a two-hour session is a non-starter. It also suits parents working around school hours, since a forty-minute slot fits into a morning that a two-hour one doesn’t.
The trade-off is more trips, which only makes sense at short distances. From Lindfield it usually does. We’ll set out both options at the planning stage and let you pick. Whether a particular treatment can be split depends on what’s involved, and that’s something the assessment determines.
Short distance doesn’t remove the question of how long a plan runs, it changes how much each appointment costs you in time.
A small filling found at an examination can often be handled in that same attendance. Crowns and bridges can’t, because the restoration is made off site between visits and that sets the minimum at two. Gum disease treatment is different again, being an ongoing arrangement with shorter review intervals rather than a course with a finish line.
We’ll tell you the number of visits at the planning stage rather than partway through. From Lindfield the extra trips are rarely the deciding factor, but knowing the shape of a plan before agreeing to it still matters.
There are practices closer to most Lindfield addresses than we are, so staying with us across years is a choice rather than a default. The reasons patients give are fairly consistent.
01
Over a Hundred Years in One Place
Families who have stayed for decades, and new patients who arrived on a recommendation, tell you more about a practice than its own marketing does.
02
Appointments Paced to the Patient Rather Than the Diary
Shorter sessions where a long one would be hard work, and longer ones where that's what the treatment needs.
03
Honest Advice About Timing
Working conservatively means hearing when something can wait, when it can't, and when a tooth is worth keeping rather than replacing.
04
One Practice Across a Whole Course of Treatment
A filling that turns into a crown stays with the same team rather than being handed between two.

Every Age Group Seen Here
From a child's first check-up through to more involved restorative work later, so a household isn't split across two practices.
You can read about the clinicians on the team page.
A tooth that has broken or come out, a filling or crown that has dropped away, pain that has sharpened, or swelling that has developed quickly are all worth a call. Ring us on (02) 9488 7555 first thing, since mornings are when the schedule has the most room and reception can tell you honestly what’s available.
A lost filling without severe pain can generally wait a day or two, though it’s worth avoiding chewing on that side meanwhile. Severe facial swelling, bleeding that won’t stop, or an injury to the jaw or face shouldn’t wait at all. Go to a hospital emergency department, and call 000 if it’s serious.
If you want something to follow before you’re seen, Healthdirect Australia has dental first aid guidance.
Patients at this practice range from first childhood check-ups to older adults who need a longer or slower appointment. Children’s visits cover examinations and preventive care, with the adult teeth monitored as they come through.
The teenage years are where grinding, wisdom teeth and alignment concerns usually first surface, and each of those is easier to manage when picked up at a routine visit rather than raised once it’s causing trouble. It’s also the stage where habits formed earlier either hold or don’t, which is worth reviewing properly.
Mention anything that would help us prepare when you book rather than on the day. Patients with special needs are accommodated. Family members can generally be booked one after another, which turns one trip into one block. What each person needs depends on their own circumstances, which the appointment determines.
Bridge Street comes off the Pacific Highway near the Gordon boundary, and the Pymble Corporate Centre is along it. By car from Lindfield, the Pacific Highway north through Killara and Gordon then a turn into Bridge Street is the direct route. Short run, though the highway banks up around school hours and weekday peaks, so a mid-morning or early afternoon slot is generally the easier drive.
By train, Pymble is three stops north of Lindfield on the T1 North Shore Line. The station is on Grandview Street at the lower end of the suburb while Bridge Street sits up near the highway, so allow for a walk at that end. Most patients this close drive.
Suite 304 is on the ground floor of Building 3, and parking is on site, so no meter and no circling. Leave extra time for a first appointment, which runs longer than a routine one.
Often, yes. Where a treatment plan allows it we can split the work across two or three shorter visits instead of one extended one. That suits anyone who finds long appointments difficult, for any reason at all, and at this distance the extra trips cost very little. We’ll lay out both options at the planning stage rather than handing you a schedule. Whether it’s possible depends on the treatment.
More often than six months, usually. Patients with a history of periodontal disease are generally reviewed at shorter intervals so the condition can be kept stable rather than allowed to progress quietly. How short depends on how the gums are behaving, which is something we assess rather than assume. Treatment suitability and results vary between individuals.
For a clean alone it’s a fair question, and the honest answer is that it depends whether you want continuity. Patients who see us for restorative work tend to keep their hygiene visits here too so everything sits in one file and the same people are tracking it. If a clean is all you’ll ever need, a practice on your own street makes complete sense and we’d say so.
Usually. Mention it when you book, tell us what stage you’re at, and we can request your file and recent X-rays from the other practice so the diagnostics don’t need repeating. Where a crown or a longer plan is partway through, knowing what’s already been done saves both time and cost. What transfers depends on what they hold.
Every age group. Teenagers are often the point where grinding, wisdom teeth or alignment concerns first come up, and those are all easier to look at early than after they’ve settled in. What’s appropriate depends on how the individual’s teeth have developed, which is something the examination shows rather than age alone.
If sitting through a long session is the part you dread, three stations is close enough that we can split the work into shorter visits instead, and it costs you almost nothing in travel to do it that way. Say that’s what you’d prefer when you ring and reception will schedule it accordingly from the outset. Dentists at Pymble takes new patients from Lindfield and across Ku-ring-gai.
